Hyper linking your web pages

Once you have started creating your web pages you will want to hyperlink them together so that the web site user can move about within the information on the web site.  The key point here is that the Anchor Text is relevant to the page where the hyperlink directs the user.

Anchor text is the visible text in a hyperlink. Anchor text is weighted (ranked) highly in search engine algorithms, because the linked text is usually relevant to the landing page. The objective of search engines is to provide highly relevant search results; this is where anchor text helps, as the tendency is, more often than not, to hyperlink words relevant to the landing page.

The best effect will be obtained when the hyperlink on page A uses anchor text that contains the keywords of page B, where page B is the target or landing page of the hyperlink. Ideally page B should not have a reciprocal link back to page A or this will lessen the effectiveness of the original link.
